Thermal labels

05/14
label family
/05About this family

Use-by date, batch number, weight — this data changes daily, the artwork does not. So we print the label with full pre-print and planned fields, and the rest you overprint on site: direct thermal at scales and for short label life, thermal transfer where the code has to survive the cold store and moisture.

We select thermal papers free of bisphenols and phenols (BPA/BPS/phenol-free) — ahead of EU regulation. The uncoated version is enough for dry products; we add a top coating when the label meets moisture, grease or frozen food. There is also a compostable variant certified to EN 13432 — for packaging that goes to compost in its entirety.

Good to know

A quick buying rule: if the print has to live longer than a few days or will see a fridge, grease or rough hands — choose the coated version (Top). Leave Eco for labels “for a moment”: scale and shipping labels. All our thermal papers are bisphenol-free.

Materials and options

What you can choose from

/01

Thermal Eco

Without a protective coating — the economical choice for shop scales and short-life labels in a dry environment. Bisphenol-free (BPA/BPS-free).

/02

Thermal Top

With a top coating that protects the print from moisture, grease and abrasion — meat, fish, deli, cold store.

/03

Thermal PP films

Direct thermal on film: food trays and applications where paper would go soft. Also in clear and recycled (rPP) versions.

/04

Thermal transfer

Papers for ribbon printing — more durable code printing where the label lives longer: warehouse, logistics, pharma.

/05

Compostable

Thermal paper with a compostable adhesive, certified to EN 13432 — for packaging that goes entirely to industrial composting.

Choosing the adhesive

The adhesive does half the work

/01

Permanent food-grade

Approved for food contact — including fatty and moist food.

/02

Chilled and frozen

Keeps its adhesion on cold, damp packaging — from the chilled counter to the freezer.

/03

Washable

For reusable crates and containers — the adhesive comes off in the wash from 30°C, the crate returns to circulation clean (IFCO approvals among others).

You do not need to know these terms — just tell us what the label has to stick to and the conditions it will live in. Our technologist will choose the rest.
